Australian Little Athletics respects your right to Privacy

Helensburgh Little Athletics is committed to protecting your right to privacy in accordance with the National Privacy Principles as set out in the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth).

We have created this web site for the enjoyment of our members, their friends and families. We need your personal information so that we can provide you with the services of this web site and continue to maintain and improve those services for you. However, we want you to understand and be comfortable with how we handle your personal information.

The privacy of your personal information is very important to us. That is why we have provided you with this explanation of our information handling practices as they relate to this web site.

Collection, Use & Disclosure of Personal Information

We collect your personal information so that we can give you all the benefits that come with being a Little Athlete. These include things like:

  • using this web site;
  • participating in sporting events;
  • knowing what other Little Athletes are doing; and
  • finding out more about Little Athletes.

We also use your personal information so that we can:

  • maintain our relationships with sponsors;
  • find out what you like and don't like and make sure we give it to you;
  • let you know about things you might like to buy;
  • working with the Government to help improve Little Athletics in Australia; and
  • promoting ALA.
Why do you want my parent/guardian's information?

Your parents/guardians care about you and so we want them to know how you are progressing as a Little Athlete. We also need to know their personal information in case of an emergency and to help us improve LA.

We try to let your parents/guardians know that their personal information is collected during Member Registration on the web site. Ask them if they know we are collecting their personal information.

If your parents/guardians don't want you to give us their personal information then please don't. Get them to contact us instead and we will work something out.

What if I don't want to give you my personal information?

No problems, you don't have to. Unfortunately though, we can't provide you with the benefits of Member Registration if you don't give us your personal information.

Who else gets my personal information?

Our sponsors and other organisations may get your personal information.

These notices will also provide further information about our sponsors' privacy practices. Just like us, our sponsors respect your right to privacy. This means that if you want to know what information our sponsors hold about you, or if you don't want to know about their goods then you can tell them so and they'll do as their told.

Our sponsors have made a promise to us that they will only knowingly use and disclose your personal information so that they can tell you about their goods and services.
